Playful and Creative Movement as Enquiry
Experimenting with embodiment to learn more about our writing and ourselves
Friday 05/04 14.00 – 16.00
Contact Theatre, Oxford Rd, Manchester M15 6JA

Research and writing – how sedentary and tedious, right? Nope! In this workshop, we are going to break up the monotony of sitting on our bums all day, staring at our computer screens, desperately trying to inch further in our writing. Using contemporary dance techniques and your own intuition, I invite you to inhabit your body more fully and engage with your senses so that we can play with our writing/research. This is a workshop to help you (literally) move through blockages in your writing or research, and to experience your work through your whole body. This workshop is for anybody who writes, feels they need to shake things up, and wants to connect with their writing in a bone-deep way.

Rebecca L.A. Davis is a researcher-dancer-writer focusing on religious change and embodiment. She is a double PhD candidate at WWU Münster and University of Groningen.
